Buses and processing

Route related sounds through a shared stage and prepare stems.

Open the bus graph

In Audio, choose Mix buses. The sheet separates buses, track strips, and meters. Use descriptive bus names such as Dialogue, Music, and Effects to make routing understandable.

Track strips route into destinations; buses apply shared processing; the master runs after them. Inspect those connections before adding EQ or dynamics.

Compare processing at a fair level

Use bypass or Compare without processing to hear the change. A louder processed signal can seem better even when it loses clarity. Pay attention to pumping, transient loss, and background noise as well as overall level.

Processing settings can include gain, pan, automation, gate or expander, and compression. Only enable the stages you need, then listen across both quiet and loud sections.

Commit and deliver

Use Apply to commit the intended settings, or Cancel to abandon the sheet’s draft. Bus settings are saved with the project and captured by named versions.

If delivering stems, check which buses or tracks are included and audition the resulting files. A collection of stems and the mastered mix serve different delivery purposes.
