Measure the sequence
In Audio, choose Measure sequence loudness. Review the complete intended mix, including current mute, solo, gain, and routing states. A measurement from the wrong range cannot describe the whole film.
Integrated loudness describes a program-level measurement. True peak estimates peaks between discrete samples. Both are useful, but neither replaces listening for distortion or a masked voice.
Choose a delivery target
Use the receiving platform’s current specification when one is supplied. A loudness target is a delivery decision, not a universal creative preference. Normalization adjusts level against the chosen target; it does not remove unwanted background sound or repair poor balance.
Use limiting deliberately to control peaks. Listen for audible compression or a flattened impact after processing.
Inspect the encoded result
Measure or review the delivered file as well as the timeline. Encoding and output settings can affect the final result. Meridian records delivery QC alongside supported exports; read any reported mismatch before treating the job as finished.
After changing the mix, run a fresh measurement. An earlier report does not describe a revised soundtrack.
